Following Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s high-profile wedding on Friday 3rd July at Madison Square Garden, new research has highlighted the enduring popularity of Swift’s music among couples planning their own weddings.
The star-studded ceremony, officiated by Adam Sandler, featured guests including Paul McCartney and Gigi Hadid.
Destination wedding experts at Destify analysed more than 14,700 tracks across 350 of Spotify’s most popular playlists containing the terms “Taylor Swift love” and “Taylor Swift wedding”. Each song received a score out of 100 based on how often it appeared, with higher scores indicating greater popularity in wedding playlists.
Lover leads the rankings
Lover, Swift’s 2019 hit, ranked 1st with a score of 73. The song experienced renewed popularity during the Eras Tour in 2023 and is currently her third-most-streamed song on Spotify, with more than 2.07 billion streams.
Daylight, also from the Lover album, ranked 2nd with a score of 60. The album drew heavy inspiration from Swift’s relationship with actor Joe Alwyn at the time of its release.
You Belong With Me (Taylor’s Version) placed 3rd with a score of 59. Originally released on 2008’s Fearless, it was re-released in 2021 as part of Swift’s project to regain ownership of her early recordings.
Paper Rings and Call It What You Want shared 4th place with scores of 58. Paper Rings, from the Lover album, includes the lyric, “I like shiny things, but I’d marry you with paper rings,” making it a natural fit for wedding playlists. Call It What You Want, from 2017’s Reputation, has also been widely speculated to reference Swift’s relationship with Alwyn.
Dress, another Reputation track, completed the top 5 with a score of 55. The song received a recent boost in popularity after appearing in the third season of Amazon Prime Video‘s The Summer I Turned Pretty, which attracted 70 million viewers in its first 70-day streaming window.

Other favourites
Cruel Summer and Cornelia Street tied for 6th place with scores of 54.
Although released in 2019, Cruel Summer enjoyed a major resurgence during the Eras Tour in 2023, later reaching number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. It is currently Swift’s most-streamed song on Spotify, with around 3.4 billion streams.
Cornelia Street was inspired by Swift’s townhouse in Manhattan’s West Village and is widely thought to reflect her early relationship with Alwyn.
Other popular wedding choices included Afterglow, Enchanted (Taylor’s Version), Delicate, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Gorgeous, and Love Story (Taylor’s Version). Reports indicate Love Story (Taylor’s Version) was the song Swift walked down the aisle to during her own wedding.
