Sekonda Expands Into Wearable Technology with Budget Smart Ring Launch

Sekonda, one of Britain’s best-known watch brands, has launched its first wearable smart ring, bringing affordable health-tracking technology to the high street and offering consumers a discreet alternative to traditional smartwatches.

Priced at £79.99 with no ongoing subscription fees, the Sekonda Smart Ring provides standard wellness features at a fraction of the cost of competitors.

Comprehensive health tracking

Designed for continuous day and night wear, the stainless steel ring passively monitors several health metrics, including

  • Sleep quality. Monitored throughout the night to build a complete picture of sleep patterns.
  • Heart rate. Measured continuously to track daily pulse variations.
  • Heart Rate Variability (HRV). Assessed to provide insights into recovery and physical stress.
  • Blood oxygen (SpO₂). Checked periodically to gauge oxygen levels.
  • Stress signals. Detected through bodily indicators to help identify daily physical pressures.
  • Skin temperature trends. Recorded over time to highlight baseline body fluctuations.
  • Women’s cycle tracking. Integrated to map menstrual health trends.
Health data syncs directly with Apple Health and Health Connect, allowing users to integrate their metrics with compatible health apps.

Designed like jewellery

Crafted from premium stainless steel in gold and silver finishes, the ring comes in six sizes. Its slim profile is designed to resemble standard jewellery rather than visible technology. The wearable offers a 5–7-day battery life and is water-resistant up to 50m, making it suitable for swimming, workouts, commuting, and sleeping.

Each purchase includes

  • Charging case: A portable container to keep the device powered.
  • USB charging cable: A standard cable to connect and power the charging case.
  • Silicone protective cover: A removable barrier to prevent scratches during weight training, manual tasks, and high-impact activities.

Growing wearable market

Demand for health-tracking rings has made them one of the fastest-growing categories in wearable technology, with the market projected to grow by 29%. However, high purchase prices and recurring subscription costs have kept many buyers out. Sekonda aims to address this barrier by combining established technology with a lower price point.

“We’re seeing growing demand for wearable technology that fits effortlessly into people’s lives,” said Pete Ogley, CEO at Sekonda. “The Sekonda Smart Ring offers health insights in a beautiful, discreet piece of jewellery, without the premium price tag or ongoing subscription. It is wellness made simple.”

The Sekonda Smart Ring is available from 21st September at sekonda.com, alongside major retailers including H Samuels, Argos, and Amazon.
