The findings come as searches related to moving house have surged 40% over the last 3 months, suggesting this will be a busy summer for Brits looking to relocate.
To help couples navigate the decision of where to put down roots, Thortful compiled an index based on a range of factors, including cost of living, average house prices, safety index scores, access to green spaces, walking trails, restaurants, and schools per 100,000 people.
The top 10 cities for married couples
Edinburgh topped the list with a score of 69.86. Famed for its rich history, culture, and striking architecture, the Scottish capital is also a hub for art and literature, hosting the Edinburgh Festival Fringe each summer. It ranks among the safest cities in the UK with a safety score of 68.78, and offers green spaces such as Arthur’s Seat, featured in the recent TV adaptation of One Day.
