New research has revealed which US states search for Ashley Madison most frequently, with Colorado recording the highest rate of searches for the married dating app.
Ashley Madison receives an average of 214,000 Google searches each month in the US and is the third most popular dating app in the country. New data from Babestation has examined how interest in the app varies across the 48 states included in the study.
The research, conducted by iconic British live cam site Babestation, analysed search volume for terms related to Ashley Madison. Researchers examined searches for Ashley Madison and calculated the average number of monthly Google searches per 100,000 citizens in each state.
Colorado recorded the highest search rate, with an average of 474 searches per 100,000 citizens each month. That equates to approximately 27,500 monthly searches across the state.
North Dakota ranked 2nd, with 412 searches per 100,000 people, followed by New Hampshire in 3rd place, with 407 searches per 100,000 people each month.
At the other end of the ranking, Mississippi recorded the lowest search rate, with an average of 192 Ashley Madison searches per 100,000 citizens each month.
Commenting on the findings, a spokesperson from Babestation said: “What this data tells us is that cheating doesn’t always happen as an ‘accident’ as many can claim, there are many Americans every month actively seeking out the opportunity to be with someone romantically that isn’t their partner. What stood out was the regional divide. States often associated with outdoor, independent lifestyles are topping this list, while more traditionally conservative Southern states rank lowest. Whether that reflects cultural attitudes or simply different patterns of app use, it is a genuinely surprising split in the data.”
The study was conducted by Babestation, the UK’s longest-running and most popular interactive television cam channel.
