The Atlanta Falcons have topped a study of NFL stadium food and drink, while the Washington Commanders recorded the lowest fan approval rating.
The investigation, conducted by Crypto Casino Winna, evaluated 232,275 Google reviews across every venue in the American football league to determine which stadiums performed best for food and drink. Researchers isolated English-language feedback mentioning food and beverages and categorised comments as positive, negative, or mixed.
To calculate the overall score, researchers subtracted the percentage of critical reviews from the percentage of positive reviews to create a net approval rating. The teams were then ranked according to this metric.
The Atlanta Falcons secured 1st place, with food and drink at Mercedes-Benz Stadium achieving a +60.7 net approval rating. Of 3,495 relevant reviews, 63.4% praised the catering, while 2.7% were critical.
The stadium recorded both the highest rate of positive feedback and the lowest rate of negative sentiment among all 30 venues. It finished 13.9 points ahead of the next-ranked team.
Paul Mertens, CEO of Winna, commented on the findings: “The Atlanta Falcons’ fan-first food pricing is doing exactly what it set out to do, judging by the data. They cleared the next-best team by nearly 14 points, and this was the largest gap between two placings in the study. The Falcons’ fan-first pricing makes sure that prices for food and drink inside the Mercedes-Benz Stadium are the same as you would pay on the street, with flagship items like the $2 hot dog being one of the most famous examples of this policy.”
“The policy showed up especially in the net approval ratings for the Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s food and drink, with all but one item scoring comfortably better than the league average. Beer scored best in the stadium, at over 19 points above the league average, and hot dogs were over 10 points above the league average. Hot dogs were well-praised in Atlanta’s reviews, with a +10.2 net approval rating, while across the league hot dogs were barely praised, with a +0.1 net approval rating.”
“It was also interesting to see that food ratings are at their highest net approval ratings right now, with the net approval rating for reviews in 2026 at +44.1, and 2025 was only 0.1 points below this. The data also shows a sharp drop in net approval ratings to +27.7 in 2021. This drop was because of the limited menus and other factors resulting from the pandemic.”
