Hogan Assessments Acquires Convogo to Boost AI Powered Talent Insights

Hogan Assessments, the global leader in personality assessment and talent insights, announced on 21st July 2026 that it has acquired Convogo, an AI-powered platform that helps talent professionals merge Hogan assessment data with other relevant talent information through a more efficient and personalised workflow.

Founded in 1987, Hogan Assessments is known for its scientifically validated tools, which are used in more than 50 countries and 54 languages. The company has completed over 13 million assessments and is adopted by around 75% of the Fortune 500.

The acquisition brings together Hogan’s expertise in personality science with Convogo’s practitioner-informed technology. Convogo allows coaches, consultants, and talent professionals to consolidate information from multiple sources through a guided workflow, organising, and combining Hogan assessment results alongside other relevant inputs. The platform produces an initial interpretation that users can then review, refine, and apply using their own Hogan training and professional judgment.

“Hogan has spent decades helping organisations understand the people behind performance,” said Allison Howell, CEO of Hogan Assessments. “As AI continues to transform the workplace, we believe it can help talent professionals work more efficiently without compromising the scientific rigour or human expertise our clients expect. This acquisition creates an exciting opportunity to enhance how they use Hogan insights to support meaningful talent decisions.”

Howell was appointed CEO earlier in 2026, having previously served as Vice President of Market Innovation. She brings extensive experience in product development, including the launch of Hogan Talent platform.

Convogo was developed to address practical challenges faced by talent professionals dealing with complex data from assessments and other sources. “From the beginning, our goal was to build something that could meaningfully support the professionals responsible for making complex talent decisions and helping leaders grow,” said Matt Cooper, co-founder of Convogo. “Hogan has the reach, credibility, and long-term vision to carry that work forward. We’re excited to see Convogo enter its next chapter as part of an organisation with such a deep commitment to the people and organisations it serves.”

The deal reflects growing interest in how AI can support, rather than replace, human expertise in fields such as executive coaching, leadership development, and talent management. Personality assessments like those offered by Hogan are widely used to predict job performance, identify potential leadership derailers, and guide development, and integrating AI workflows could help practitioners synthesise large volumes of data more quickly, freeing up time for high-value interpretation and client interaction.

Industry observers note that responsible integration of AI in HR technology requires careful attention to bias mitigation, data privacy, and transparency, areas where established players with strong scientific foundations may hold an advantage. Hogan’s long-track record in validation research positions it well to navigate these challenges, and the company has said it will remain focused on responsible AI use, professional judgment, and the scientific rigour that has defined its approach for nearly four decades.

The acquisition is expected to enhance Hogan’s offerings for its global network of coaches and consultants, giving them tools to streamline the combination of personality data with other talent metrics while retaining full control over final recommendations.
