East End Pub Launches James Bond Bond Club with Martinis, Karaoke and Discounts for 007 Fans

The Angel of Bow in London’s East End has introduced its shaken and stirred Bond Club, a Friday evening attraction for James Bond enthusiasts.

Located at 171 Devons Road in Bow, the independent family-run pub offers an immersive 007 experience featuring martinis, fancy dress options, and karaoke. Fans can attend individual evenings or join the club to access exclusive member discounts.

Martinis and cocktails

The team offers three 007 style martinis, as well as other cocktails and sophisticated nibbles, including essential olives and pretzels, for £29.95.

The evening was inspired by the pub’s latest mixologist, who specialises in creating cocktails.

If, like Mr Bond, martini is your thing, you can have it straight up, shaken, or stirred. The pub can also conjure up almost any martini cocktail you can imagine, including espresso, Vesper, Gibson, dirty, or even pornstar.

The cocktail list extends beyond martinis, with options ranging from an Old Fashioned and Long Island iced tea to a Manhattan, Margarita, Boulevardier, and Singapore Sling.

The pub prepares 98% of its food in its on site kitchen using local East London suppliers. Fresh fish comes from Billingsgate Market, while meats are sourced from nearby butchers, reflecting its commitment to supporting local businesses. The pub also serves its own Angel of Bow session lager.

Dress the part

Fancy dress is optional, but guests can sip their cocktails dressed as though they have just walked off a Bond set. Options include an iconic tuxedo or a Bond Girl inspired look, with inspiration ranging from Sylvia Trench’s long red evening gown in Dr No to Honor Blackman’s sleek Pussy Galore suits and Grace Jones’ leather clad look in A View to a Kill.

There are no restrictions on outfits. The venue is already known for its Saturday bottomless drag brunches, making it a lively setting for creative dressing and entertainment.

Karaoke with Teddy

The Friday night karaoke party is hosted by the inimitable Teddy, with Bond Club attendees invited to belt out classic theme tunes. Choices include Shirley Bassey’s “Goldfinger” and “Diamonds Are Forever”, Adele’s “Skyfall”, and Sam Smith’s Oscar-winning “Writing’s on the Wall”.

Karaoke is part of the pub’s regular weekly events, which also include Wednesday open mic nights, Saturday bottomless drag brunches, and a Sunday carvery roast with a pub quiz. Together, the events create a welcoming setting centred on sharing food and drink with friends.

Club benefits and overnight stays

The Bond Club offers 5% off food and drinks on Bond night, as well as 20% off stays in one of the rooms above the pub. Guests can extend their evening without worrying about driving or navigating public transport afterwards.

The boutique B&B has five rooms featuring reclaimed furniture upcycled by local artists, feature walls, and comfortable wooden sleigh beds. Its location near Victoria Park, the O2 Arena, and Devons Road station also makes it convenient for visitors exploring the East End.

Formerly known under other names, the pub reopened following a renovation and has since built a reputation for its eclectic mix of hand-picked and restored furnishings. More information about its events is available on the pub’s website.
