Two spirited young performers will alternate as the iconic orphan in a vibrant production of Annie at The Boulevard Theatre in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire.
Vision Arts and The Boulevard Theatre have announced that Annie will take to the stage during February Half Term (19th–21st February 2026), with Hallie Nelson and Alisha Panesar sharing the title role. Both are already in rehearsals for what promises to be a lively and heartwarming performance.
Based on Harold Gray’s 1924 comic strip Little Orphan Annie, the story follows an optimistic 11-year-old navigating the hardships of 1930s New York while searching for family and hope. The Broadway musical adaptation, created by Charles Strouse, Martin Charnin and Thomas Meehan, became a global hit after its 1977 debut, winning seven Tony Awards including Best Musical and running for over 2,300 performances. It continues to inspire film versions, revivals and community theatre productions worldwide.
Vision Arts, a Haverfordwest-based creative hub known for shows such as Matilda Jr and Annie Jr, is reimagining the musical with bold comic-book visuals, playful characters and a renewed focus on optimism. The company’s productions emphasise confidence-building, teamwork and creativity among young performers, reflecting its broader mission to nurture local talent through classes in acting, singing and dance.

It’s going to be a spectacular half-term treat for all the family.”
Nelson and Panesar were chosen following open auditions in September 2025. Since then, rehearsals have focused on capturing Annie’s blend of resilience and warmth while embracing Vision Arts’ energetic style. The production will feature the beloved songs Tomorrow, It’s a Hard Knock Life and You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile, celebrating themes of perseverance and hope that continue to resonate with audiences of all ages.
The Boulevard Theatre, an intimate 200-seat venue that opened in 2022, has become a cornerstone of west Wales entertainment. Known for its friendly atmosphere and varied programming, it regularly hosts pantomimes, comedies and musical tributes.
