Cherrycore Trend Predictions Set to Dominate Autumn Winter as Cherry Perfume Rise

Autumn is around the corner, the nights are drawing in, and we’re swapping summer dresses for cosy knits. Now is the perfect time to switch up your scent too.

The latest A/W trend report by LOOKFANTASTIC, powered by digital trend intelligence and platform data in partnership with TikTok and Reddit, has named cherry the fastest-growing fragrance profile on the retailer’s site. The finding suggests beauty’s gourmand moment is far from over as the colder months approach.

Searches on the LOOKFANTASTIC site for cherry fragrances have risen by 16% month on month, putting the note on track to be the fastest-growing profile this season alongside amber, lavender, and other florals. The retailer recommends pairing cherry with soft florals and deep, woody notes for balance, whether worn as a bold statement or layered subtly into an existing fragrance wardrobe.

Keely Gough, Managing Director at LOOKFANTASTIC, says: “Cherry is a great example of how our trend data lets us spot a shift before it hits the mainstream. After a summer of grandmacore’s comforting, dessert led scents, we’re seeing that same gourmand appetite evolve into something with a little more edge. Cherry gives our customers a way to feel of the moment while still layering in the softer, cosier notes they’ve loved all year, that’s exactly the kind of insider knowledge we want to put in front of them, so they can shop with confidence rather than guesswork.”

How to wear fragrance to maximise longevity and projection

The beauty experts at LOOKFANTASTIC say applying fragrance correctly comes down to three things: prepping your skin, targeting pulse points, and layering with intention.

Prep your skin

Start with an unscented or lightly scented lotion straight after showering, as perfume evaporates much faster on dry skin and won’t last as long. Make sure the lotion does not clash with or overpower the fragrance you are about to apply.

Target pulse points

Spray your main fragrance directly onto pulse points such as the wrists, neck, and behind the ears. These areas are warmer than the rest of the body, helping to diffuse the scent throughout the day. Hold the bottle five to six inches from your skin for an even mist, then let it dry naturally rather than rubbing your wrists together, as this can break down the top notes before they have had a chance to develop.

Layer scents and enhance wear

Once your base is in place, add a lighter mist or complementary second fragrance to create a more personal, multidimensional scent profile.
