As public healthcare systems face unprecedented pressure and reliance on prescription medication reaches record levels, two prominent well-being advocates are set to explore alternatives to what they describe as the “Sick Care” paradigm.
On Tuesday 25th August 2026, LEON founder and CEO John Vincent will host filmmaker, longevity advocate, and founder of The Longevity Network Jonathan Ramalho for an exclusive live recording of The John Vincent Podcast at LEON HQ in London.
The event comes as Ramalho prepares for the global debut of his documentary Beyond The Pill: The Path to Longevity on Amazon Prime Video. The discussion will explore how people can move from reactive treatment towards active prevention, with a focus on biohacking, neuroscience, and lifestyle changes aimed at supporting human optimisation.
Ramalho’s approach to longevity is rooted in a profound personal experience. Five years ago, following a severe drug-induced psychosis after an ayahuasca retreat in South America, he was diagnosed with schizophrenia and spent five months in a London psychiatric ward. After becoming catatonic and facing the prospect of long-term psychiatric medication, he rejected the idea that managing symptoms should define his future.
Drawing on his background as a communications strategist for major international media organisations, including CBS News, Reuters, and The Economist, Ramalho says he systematically examined his own biology. He combined traditional practices with modern neuroscience, biohacking, and psychosynthesis as part of what he describes as a complete, medication-free recovery.
“We have inherited a medical model designed around reactive treatment rather than proactive vitality,” says Ramalho. “My journey from a psychiatric ward to peak performance proved that when you bridge ancient wisdom with modern science, the body and mind have an astounding capacity to rebuild. This podcast discussion with John is about giving people the clear, actionable signal they need to exit Sick Care.”
Vincent, who founded LEON with a mission to serve Naturally Fast Food and returned as CEO last year to guide the brand back towards its original ethos, has long advocated straightforward and accessible approaches to public well-being. The high street restaurant chain has positioned itself around food designed to support health rather than undermine it.
During the live recording, Vincent and Ramalho will examine Ramalho’s longevity framework, built around four pillars: Food, Mood, Move, and Sleep, alongside a three-stage progression from Recovery to Performance to Prevention. An interactive Q&A will follow, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions about topics including cellular optimisation and mental resilience.
Both men argue that individuals can take greater control of their health by focusing on foundational habits rather than waiting for crisis-driven interventions. Ramalho’s account of rebuilding his life following a severe mental health crisis provides a personal example of what that approach can look like, while Vincent’s involvement connects the discussion to broader questions around food systems, lifestyle, and accessible well-being on the high street.
The conversation comes as interest in longevity science, biohacking, and preventive health continues to grow. Ramalho’s documentary and network aim to make these concepts more practical, moving beyond research and theory towards everyday tools intended to support recovery and long-term vitality in a healthcare landscape that remains heavily focused on treating problems after they emerge.
