Adult entertainment veteran Tommy Gunn has released his long-awaited memoir, Tommy Gunn: Unloaded, offering an unfiltered look at his 20-year career.
Published by Tepris Press and co-edited with N.T. Anderson and Jon Ford, the book is co-written with Jim Steele. It is available now in hardcover, paperback and Kindle editions on Amazon. Gunn, a Hall of Famer in the industry, traces his journey from starting as a dancer to becoming one of the most recognised male performers, sharing career triumphs, setbacks and lessons both on and off set.
“This has been a labour of love over the last couple years and I am so excited for this day to finally arrive,” said Gunn. “I am hopeful that Tommy Gunn: Unloaded is well received and I am truly thankful for everyone who helped make this book a reality.”
Tepris Press’s Anderson and Ford described the project as a milestone for their imprint. “This was a fun and unique project for Tepris Press. With over 3,400 credits listed on the Internet Adult Film Database, Gunn is one of the most prolific performers of his generation. His accolades include induction into the XRCO Hall of Fame, the AVN Hall of Fame in 2016, and the Urban X Hall of Fame in 2025.
Born Thomas Joseph Strada on 13 May in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Gunn entered the adult entertainment world in the early 2000s. Known for his rugged looks and professionalism, he quickly earned recognition within the industry. The memoir explores what he calls the “wild ride” of his career, exposing both the glamour and the “bruising lows” that accompanied it.
Gunn has also pursued mainstream roles. He made a cameo on HBO’s Entourage in 2010, appeared in Louis Theroux’s documentary Twilight of the Porn Stars in 2012, and starred in the horror film Wolves in 2014. That same year he featured on Pawn Stars, selling his customised zombie apocalypse vehicle. In 2017 he appeared in the crime drama Gangster Land. These credits highlight his versatility as a Screen Actors Guild cardholder, seeking dialogue-driven work in both adult and conventional productions.
Gunn’s reflections highlight a grounded outlook. “Show up, be cordial, and treat your co-stars with kindness. Building a good rapport with the people you work with is key; everyone wants to collaborate with someone likable, not an egotistical person who thinks they’re above others. That’s just not a good look.”
This year marks a pivotal moment for Gunn, with the memoir coinciding with the release of Fans Only, a documentary co-created with filmmaker Joel Van der Molen. Now streaming on Amazon Prime, the film offers a candid look at Gunn’s career and the realities of the adult industry. Both projects emphasise his aim to share experiences authentically and contribute to conversations about mental health, professionalism and authenticity in adult entertainment.
Away from work, Gunn prioritises balance, maintaining an active lifestyle with workouts, travel, and time outdoors. He stresses that staying true to oneself is central to long-term success.
